My husband and I had been trying to have a baby for 3 years before I decided to try acupuncture.

After many tests, the doctors could find nothing wrong with my husband or I.  After numerous tries with different medications and procedures, with no results, it was time to move onto IVF.  We knew this was pretty much our last chance, so I started researching the benefits of acupuncture when used with ART cycles.

I started seeing Jeff two times a week about one month before my first attempt at IVF.  That cycle was canceled, as my body didn't respond well to the medications.  I also believe that I didn't leave myself enough time for acupuncture to work.  So I continued to go to acupuncture 1-2 times a week, and took a five month break from the doctors appointments to get ready for our next IVF attempt.

I could tell there were positive changes going on inside my body.  By the time we were ready to start another cycle, I felt so calm and at peace, hardly ever felt stressed, and felt great physically too.

The next cycle was 100% different, although I was on the same medication protocol.  I found out a couple weeks later, the cycle had worked and I was finally pregnant.  A couple weeks after that, we found out we were expecting triplets!

I can't say for sure that it was the acupuncture that finally made our dreams come true, but since I could physically feel the changes in my body...I have a very strong suspicion that without it, my babies wouldn't be here.

Theresa's Testimonial - Fertility

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 3 1/2 years. We tried on our own for 1 year then sought the help of a specialist. After a lot of time and money spent, we were no further ahead. I was pretty depressed and had a hard time accepting the inevitable that I may never have my own child. We took a break from everything and tried to deal. There is a lot of pain when you get to this point.

In January '05 I began to meet with Jeff, a specialist in TCM and acupuncture. My husband had seen a report on ABC world news regarding fertility issues and how acupuncture can help and suggested trying. We decided to try it out for 3 months. I wouldn't say I was totally into it, but wanted to make sure I explored all options, and would not regret something later. I read the book 'The Infertility Cure'. After reading it, TCM made a lot of sense!

Jeff had me chart my basal body temperature everyday for a month. I saw him once a week. After studying my temperature, in February, Jeff suggested raw herbal drinks everyday, 3 times a day as part of the TCM process. To be honest, the drinks were not tasty...but I did it. This was the first month my basal body temperature seemed 'calmer' and I had my first 28 day cycle in a long time. In the past my temperature seemed very 'erratic' from day to day.

I was now in my third month, March. My husband and I were talking again about doing IVF together with TCM in April. We didn't have to go that far. Again my temperature was very 'even' and day 28 came, and went....day 29, 30, 31, 32,34........42, nothing! I was excited and scared. I didn't want to get my hopes up again! We finally verified that I was indeed pregnant!

I feel like I received great proof as far as how TCM had helped my fertility cycle, no doctors ever examined my daily temperature and this could have been a large factor. I also enjoyed acupuncture. I often felt very relaxed during the procedure and it is widely known that acupuncture can help the blood flow through the uterus.

As for being pregnant... Our dreams have come true!

Going to see Jeff Rogers at Acupuncture Wellness is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

After getting the runaround from my traditional doctors and being sent off to ingest medications that would only address the symptoms, not the root, of my problem, I decided that I needed to take a different approach. One of my best friends had been to see Jeff before her IVF cycle and was convinced that is what made her treatment successful. Although my problem was much different than my friend's, I decided I had nothing to lose. What a difference! Instead of making any judgments, Jeff asked me questions and actually listened to what I had to say. Unlike my doctor's appointments where I had 10 minutes at best, I had over an hour to explain what was happening.

After dealing with unpredictable/irregular/absent periods most of my life, I was very worried that I would not be able to get pregnant and, if I did, how I would even know that I was. Acupuncture has been a wonderful experience. It was so relaxing and I felt like I was bringing my body into harmony, as opposed to medicating it to force it to do something without addressing the underlying problem. I continued to see Jeff for the first 12 weeks of the pregnancy and I am happy to report that I am now nearly 7 months along, I feel great, and, most importantly, my baby appears to be healthy. I would highly recommend Jeff and his services. The whole experience has been wonderful and I fully believe that I have Jeff to thank for this life that is growing inside of me and having a body that is healthy enough to support and create that life.

Kim's Testimonial - Elbow Tendonitis

My name is Kim and I am a 46 year old female that has suffered through elbow tendonitis. My story is as follows:

In addition to caring for my mother who had back surgery, I was painting, gardening and doing heavy lifting when I was hit with elbow pain. It was very debilitating. Forget about lifting anything of even minor weight. My situation was so bad that I could not even do the most mundane activities. I could not lift a cup of coffee without pain, squeeze a toothpaste tube, or wring out any kind of cloth. I could not straighten my arm out to the side or back without inflicting pain. This occurred in my right elbow and I am right-handed. I tried home remedies, aspirin and ibuprofen, which temporarily masked the pain, but did not remedy the situation. I tried hot packs and cold packs. I tried almost every type of of arthritic/muscle gel on the market, ones with methyl salicylate, capsicum, camphor, menthol, etc. Again, these gave temporary relief but did not assist in healing the afflicted elbow. My next option was a doctor visit. I was given prescriptions for stronger pain medications, which I tried, but found many to be too hard on my digestive system. My next recourse was a cortisone shot in the elbow joint that was no help whatsoever. I was becoming very despondent as months had passed and I was not getting any better. I began to search the Internet for any kind of advice. Many sites recommended acupuncture as a possible alternative remedy. I was somewhat skeptical, but my 92 year old aunt had undergone acupuncture while she lived in California and encouraged me to find an acupuncturist in Michigan and give it a try. I contacted Jeffrey Rogers, Dipl. Ac., and began my treatments. After numerous sessions, I must say I am back to 80% functional and believe I will be 100% functional in the near future.
